**wednesday. 12 march**
we did the solvent partition today...haha...thats is to prepare the crude to run the thin layer chromatography...then it was a rather troublesdome thing...so many apparatus involved...got seperating funnel, dichloromethane, acethone, hexane, methanol, water, flask, rotatory evaporators...ah...endless? haha...but its so fun!!! then we did the flash column chormatography...haha...all were well until dao han came...haha... he came back from CO mah...so we gave him instruction...then while he was trying to fill the solvent into the column, the glass broke...the glass pipette broke into the column..because its ultra thin and is like, omg lar...he broke it and it droppped in...so he asked me to go, then i put the round bottom flask which i was holding on to on the bottle cap because i had seen miss nilar doing it, then it somehow slipped and toppled and all the turmeric crude spilled out...omg...its so disasterous...the turmeric stained the floor andf cabinet and i dreamt of it before!!! but i forgot the ending , so i could tell what we did...in anycase, i want to faint le lor...so OMG lar..haha...then janice they all back from lunch mah, then they were like SHOCKED...its a good thing nilar went to the meeting...if not..HAHA...gone le...then zhu li was trying to retrieve the rod while the rest of use tried to clear the mess..
we used acetone, DCM , bleach, agent...whatever lar...we managed to remove most of the stains...left a bit...then we tried to cover it up and phew....we sort of "clear" the mess...at least it wasn't very obvious ...me,zl and dh went down to have over lunch...dh ate A LOT A LOT....omg lar..i woner where his fats went to...hmm...eat 2 plates of rice? is like yesterday he ate his rice, i gave him my toast and he can still eat snother plate of fried rice...today also...and he eat so fast lar...i give him the meat and i just turn my head and the meat had gone into his mouth...erm erm....
then we sat down together and wait for the flash column chromatography because we need to collect the sollution test tube by test tube...kept gossiping xD then the room is ultra cold lar...then me and dh were like, we knew got some "thing" in the room...i sensed got 2...zhu li "saw" 1, dh "heard" 1, i saw, heard ,feel both -.- OMG lar....but never mind...its just that we over shot the time the lab should close and it was trying to make us go off because we were disturbing them...then janice and CS most innocent...haha...they didn't sense anything...
then after that went home lor..haha...so fun! today is colourful...haha
